Dobrý deň, ako sa máš?
Over the summer of 2017 I interned at Localhost s.r.o. in Košice, Slovakia, where I worked on web applications using Angular 2, Material Design, and Spring Boot.
Slovakia is a pretty cool place. Very different from the United States. It really gives you perspective/new appreciation for the things you have back home. On the weekends I was able to travel a lot—to all bordering countries of Slovakia—as well as some Western European destinations.
Localhost is a startup of about 30-35 Slovak gentlemen and ladies based in the small city of Košice, Slovakia. The company creates frontend, backend, iOS, and Android applications contracted by other companies. During my stay there, I mostly worked on a project called LearnBox contracted out of the UK. The folks working at Localhost were extremely friendly and skilled, and through them I quickly learned Angular 2 development best-practices, SourceTree, scrum development, and Spring Boot.
